So, last weekend, I went to a Japanese Festival/Carnival thing, called an Obon with my family… This is the one time a year where my sister and I actually dress up in our Yukata’s…  I don’t do a lot of cultural things and consider myself to be uberly American, but I think that going to Obon’s and dressing up is about as cultural as Allie gets…  It was tons of fun though, both sides of my family were all there, my sister had some friends come, I had a friend come out too.. and we ate lots of food… played some games… and best of all, danced the Obon Odori (which I guess…can be sort of thought as line dancing, but Japanese.)  Here are a couple pics of me and my sister, and of course, my dad… Enjoy!

Aren’t we adorable?!?  LOL.

At today’s weekly managers’ meeting, Trish went over many of the new products that we will be receiving in the coming months. One of my favorite manufacturers is Basic Grey, which came out with a tropical line called Granola. It features blue, green, brown and yellow tones. It’s perfect for any tropical vacation or even a masculine layout. There were so many other companies with great paper lines for Halloween, Christmas and Valentines Day. I can’t wait until we get them all.  Happy shopping.

I love this stuff…I was always anti liquid glue, but when I tried it I loved it, it gives you a few seconds to move to where it should be and second later its dry. and everything is well attached…. HAPPY CRAFTING….Doreen

Hi Gals & Guys,

Drum roll please!  This is my first BLOG and with Trish’s help I’m entering a whole new world!  I love to talk so get ready everyone!   OK, what’s new with me, well a lot.  It seems like I’ve been out of California more than in since the summer began.  My parent’s home was flooded in June with the floods you probably heard about in the Midwest.  What a BIG MESS!  They were lucky, though, it could have been much worse.  My August sketch layout shows some pictures of their home.  Then, the second week of July my father-in-law had a heart attack and ended up having quadruple  bi-pass surgery.  He, also, was very lucky to have had a warning before a massive heart attack could have taken his life.  Now, I’m leaving again tomorrow for the American Softball Association 18U Gold National Softball Championship held in Oklahoma City, OK, with my daughter, Erica, who plays travel softball for the Corona Angels.  I will be gone with her until the 10th but this tournament is like the World Series of Softball.  Only 64 teams from the entire United States can participate in this tournament and each team has to qualify in order to be able to attend.  It’s a major accomplishment just to qualify to go.  I will keep you posted on her progress.  Hopefully after I get back on the 10th there won’t be any more travel in my near future.  Gosh, this blogging is fun,  I’ll be in touch.

Here are some photos taken by my personal photographer (Devon) at the recent 4th anniversary/birthday party sale/organizational/demo extravaganza!  It was a lot of fun, and – can you tell – a Hawaiian luau theme.

Five years will be here before we know it…I wonder what Trish will have in store for that special day!!!

I am off on vacation again.  Tomorrow I leave to spend the week with my parents in Northern Idaho.  I love spending time up there, it is usually one of the most relaxing vacations I take during the year.  I sleep in, sit by the lake and read a book, go for long walks, and I even get a little scrapbooking in.  This year I am taking 4 kits up with me that one of the instructors did.  They are already precut so all I need is to pack my tape and I’m good to go!!! If you don’t have time to take the class, buy the kit and take it on vacation with you!! -Cheri

Have you ever downloaded a font and then tried to use it only to find that it’s not showing up? Irene and I were discussing this yesterday and I decided to Google the topic in order to find the exact steps used to correct this problem. I found this site. http://desktoppub.about.com/cs/fixfonts/ht/install_fonts_w.htm

These steps are along the same lines as what I have done in the past. Note: most of the time your fonts should download to C:/Windows/Fonts unless you have specifically told them to be saved somewhere else.

I hope this is helpful to some of you.

PS – this is for Windows users but I believe at the bottom of the article are links for Mac users who may experience problems as well.

Check out the classes section on the web site to read descriptions about our upcoming classes, then head on down to SGT on Friday night for Class Kick Off. It will be your first chance to see all the great new projects that the design team girls have been working on. Be there early so that you have first chance to sign up for these wonderful classes. You wont be disappointed!!!!
