Happy Holidays!
Posted November 30, 2009
on:Hii everyone! Hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend! Did you go out shopping on Black Friday?? I know I did and I definitely had to buy that ribbon from SGT before it disappears! I also stocked up on a ton of movies so I have something to watch while I craft.. Oohhh and on cardstock as well. You can never have enough cardstock. If you haven’t been by the store in awhile… definitely go in soon!! I saw Trish pricing some cute stamps and paper packs over the weekend… Don’t wait too long, nothing stays on the shelves very long at SGT!!
Hope everyone has a great holiday season… It’s officially started!!

Halloween Madness
Posted November 2, 2009
on:In the aftermath of last week, not my most favorite week on the year all things considering, so I definitely needed a pick me up. I think moping around the house for a week is more than enough, it’s time to get back into the groove of things and get a move on. So, with that in mind, I did a mini-photo shoot with my doggie, Nani in all of her costumes… Since I don’t exactly have a lot of halloween pictures, but LOTS of halloween paper, I needed something to scrap about! Take a look: Hopefully, I can actually do something with these pictures soon. Will keep you updated.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Last week, I went to Halloween Haunt with Ryan and then the next morning headed out to Disneyland with my family. I absolutely love Halloween Haunt at Knott’s Scary Farm! It’s not the best time to get pictures, but I managed to ask a few of the monsters for a quick pic.I think I got a total of 4 hours, possibly 5 hours of sleep before Disneyland with my family for my Mom’s birthday. My parents hadn’t been to disneyland since I was probably in middle school, if that. We all got annual passes (except my sister, whose pass was still valid). Here are a few pictures from Disneyland:
Eventually, I’ll get the pics from my sister’s cam and my dad’s cam and get them printed. In the meantime, Happy Scrappin!

Mini Golf!
Posted September 30, 2009
on:Awhile back, I went to play minigolf with Ryan… and well, I’ve finally gotten around to doing something with a few of the pictures… Please keep in mind that it’s a work in progress (ie no embellies, no title, no journaling… yet) and I’m not a creative genius like all my co-workers.. But here’s a peak:Any suggestions to help me finish?? What would YOU do?

Cal Poly has changed their policy about club/organization advisors in that they cannot be from the office of student life, which means, my sorority had to find new advisors for this upcoming year. To honor our advisor of 8 years, Dora, the active class set up a dinner for her and they asked me (apparently they think I’m creative or something..) to make her a paddle. Using the Quickutz Revolution, Silhouette, sakura paper punches, swarovski crystals, pearls, and seed beads, I was able to come up with a PRETTY paddle. Take a look:
It may not be a 2 page layout, but with the same tools, you can create all types of gifts. I’m pretty sure Dora loved her paddle, and well, everyone was trying to drop hints about wanting one. Just wanted to share while it was fresh in my mind. Happy Creating!

Ode to Summer
Posted August 31, 2009
on:As I was surfing the WWW, I came across this poem on someone’s blog, I’m not exactly sure HOW I found it… but I thought I would share it since, well, school has already started for some or will start soon for others which means the summer is coming to a close.
An Ode to Summer
Summer, oh summer, you’ve been such a blast!
But why, oh why, must you go by so fast?
I filled you with trips and beaches and fun
I’ve spent much of you laying by the pool in the sun.
Those days when I said I was a little bit bored
I wasn’t thinking! I’m wrong!
I wish those days could be stored…
Stored for the long weeks of torture and pain
When I have to hear choruses saying my name
Over and over like nails on a chalkboard,
So many voices whining in dischord.
I’ll miss the long leisurely days that are warm
With time every day to keep my legs shorn
And to type out an email anytime that I like
Or to go to the store when the crowds are so light.
I need to start strengthening my bladder and voice
For soon the time will come when I haven’t a choice
About talking all day or patrolling the halls
Or crossing my legs when nature calls.
Oh, summer I’ll miss you; you’ve been such a treat.
If I can make it ’til next year, it’ll be quite a feat.
In the meantime, I’ll dream, reminisce and recall
the memories of you just to get through the fall.
Then report cards and conferences, assessments and more!
I can no longer dream, it’s too much to ignore.
Until next year, summer, I bid you adieu.
I can’t wait to see you and start you anew!
Here are a few pics I have from my summer, before my camera decided to break.
Hope everyone had a great summer! On to fall and hopefully, cooler days!

Camera-less
Posted August 17, 2009
on:OMG. So, if you are a scrapbooker, what’s the number 1 item you have to have?? My answer: Pictures. And what do you need to have if you want pictures?? My answer: A camera. Well, yesterday, I was going to take a picture of my BF trying to get into a kiddie ride at the Pizza place, so I take out my camera that I carry with me EVERYWHERE. I turn it on. The lens opens, but there’s an error, restart camera and turns off. I press the on button again and well, the lens doesn’t move, but my camera makes a clicking noise as if it’s trying to move. HOLY SMOKES, my camera is busted! I took it down to Canon this morning to get fixed. It’s costing $99. Sad Face. Super Sad Face. Oh well. Sigh. That’s my story. I’m going to be cameraless til it’s done being fixed. Bummer.
Hope all of you are having better luck than I am!

Quotes
Posted July 28, 2009
on:I can’t sleep. My mind won’t stop. So I decided to surf the net in search of some good quotes, you know, the inspriational/motivational pick-me-up sort of quotes that instill you with this good feeling and renewed hope. Anyway, I came across a few quotes that I simply had to share with someone. =)
A day without scrapbooking is a day without sunshine.

Blessed are the children of scrapbookers, for they shall inherit the scrapbooks.

Just as pieces stitched together in a quilt warm our bodies,
Scrapbooks bind together memories to warm our Hearts!

If you don’t know your family’s history, then you don’t know anything. You are a leaf that doesn’t know it is part of a tree.
— Michael Crichton
Scrapbooking is cheaper than a therapist. <– This made me think of our very own Dr. Heidi Ho. =)

We do not spend our money on a lot of material possessions – we spend money to create memories for our children and others we love. Those are the only things one can take away. When health is gone or someone dies… or it’s a hard year at school, the memories are still there…to open the windows of a child’s mind…to make him or her laugh and feel warm and strong inside where it counts.
— Ann Kiernel Anderson
When life gives you scraps, make something with them. <– I especially ❤ this one, makes me think about lemons and lemonade… or some other type of happy beverage/shot/drink thing… =) Clever though, isn’t it?
— Author Unknown
Keep some souvenirs of your past, or how will you ever prove it wasn’t all a dream?
— Ashleigh Brilliant
Perhaps these quotes can help inspire you to scrap, if you haven’t in awhile. Or provide a new topic to scrap about. In any case, I thought they were uber cute and I hope you think so too. =)
