Scrappin' Good Times Blog

Last Friday was SGT’s Christmas Party.  It was supposed to be an Employee/Design Team Crop; but it became much, much more than that.   Some of you know that My cousin Crystal has just been diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer. There is a need for layouts for  Scrapbooks for Crystal and her family.               Click here for info on Crystal

Many of the Good Time Girls stepped up to the plate and generously gave their precious time and talent to create some beautiful layouts featuring Crystal’s children Aiden and Rylee. Of course we had fun while doing the layouts and telling stories and scrapping until the wheeeeeee hours of the morning.

Here are a few pictures of the evening…

OK, If you read our newsletter It said to check the blog.  So here you are!

We have one extra pair of San Diego Scrapbook Expo Tickets good for this Friday or Saturday. Seeeeee!!!!

The first person who WANTS this pair of tickets…  and writes a TEN word essay (is that too easy?) gets the tickets.  All you have to do is COMMENT on this blog posting. We’ll email the lucky winner and you can come pick up the tickets.

That’s it! Good Luck.   See you in San Diego

Are you working on Graduation Invitations??  Are you having a hard time findingCustom Graduation Die Cuts stickers that match your school colors??  Unfortunately the manufacturers cannot make every single combination of colors.  They usually stick to black.  We hear you…we understand your frustration.  The hunt is over!!  We will do it for you!! You pick out the paper to match your school colors and we will make your embellishments.  The cost is $.50 each.

Pick up the newest issue of Memory Makers (May/June) and turn to page 77, the Reader Idea Gallery, and you’ll see a picture of Scrappin’ Good Times’ design team member Kristin Hayne.  Kristin has been published many times, but I particularly like this one as it features Kristin herself.  What a great layout!

Thanks for the inspiration, and congratulations, Kristin!   – Barbara

If you missed nabbing a spot in this coming Sunday’s “Silly Old Bear” class, here’s some good news –there’s a new alternate version of the class available. The new version uses more pink elements so is a bit more feminine, but not super girly. The album size is a bit smaller, so I’ve added two additional pages in the new class. “In the Pink” will take place on  Sunday, 3/9.  The sample is on display in the store.

Creative Cafe under wrapsCreative Cafe under wrapsHave you seen the new area up front that is currently under wraps?

Rows of bins, like a candy store filled with tags, chipboard, felt and buttons with coordinating ribbons, rub-ons, papers and dies.  Couple this with an Art Bar, a permanent place for you to sit down, get inspired and create!!  Are you drooling!   Join us for our first Happy Hour Make & Take. We will be creating an Uber-Cute Refrigerator Magnet using a variety of Accucut flower dies and paper, tags and buttons from the All New Creative Café Spirit Collection..   The cost is only $5.

The Creative Café brings together four of the Scrapbook World’s most sought after manufacturers:

Creative Imaginations * Bazzil * Hampton Arts * Accucut

It consists of two color palettes…Lucky and Spirit.

I would best describe Lucky as fall colors, deep burgundy, gold, brown, teal and green.  Spirit reminds me of summer…bright red, blue, pink, orange and lime.

Both are beautiful!

 Happy Hour!!

Yupp!! You heard me right…HAPPY HOUR!!  Every Thursday from 5 – 7 pm join us for Happy Hour.  We will create a different Make & Take project each week. Everything from Gift Ideas, Mini Books, Scrapbook Pages, Home Décor, Party Favors, Greeting Cards and More.  Creative Imaginations will send us recipe cards for projects designed by some of their hottest designers. Some times we will use their ideas and other times the Good Time Girls will design the projects.  You will get the best of both worlds.

This will all be unveiled this Saturday, November 10 at 11 a.m. SGT-CC3

All I can tell you right now, is that when I showed the Good Time Girls what was under wraps, they went Ooooooohhhhhhhhh and AAhhhhhhhhhhh!
