Kits, kits, and more kits!

This was what our cropping table looked like on Wednesday as we prepped make-n-take kits for Expo. These pages are from a book that Julie designed and which fun-loving expo scrappers are no doubt assembling as I sit and type this on Saturday afternoon.

I’m not at Expo today, but I was there yesterday and let me tell you – the Scrappin’ Good Times booth looks fabulous –one of the Expo staff members told us if there was an award for best looking booth we’d be sure to win it!

We had two wonderful make-n-take projects yesterday. One was a clear family/thanksgiving stand-up frame by Barbara and Krista (missed taking a pic of that, but trust me it was gorgeous!) Then on the other side of our booth was a “Boo” clear tag album project designed by Michelle and Val. You can see some fabulous photos of the “Boo” project here. (Awesome pics, Kim!)

Get ready to have a “good time” because the Good Time Girls are at Scrapbook Expo Ontario! The Girls have created some FABULOUS make-n-takes for you to make right there in our booth. These projects are all embellished and cute-i-fied to the max! We have several different projects we’ll be teaching over both days at the Expo so stop by our booth several times each day to get your spot at the make-n-take stations.

Also, the Good Time Girls have created some gorgeous layouts that will be displayed in the booth– be sure to take a close look at those pages as they have some extra secret embellishments on them! All the surprises will be unveiled at the Scrappin’ Good Times booth at Expo starting on Friday–so make it your first stop when you come in the door at Expo!  See you there…

If you weren’t on the SPooktaCuLar Bus Tour, then you missed alot of FUN….crazy games, singing, givaways, and soooooo much more. I think this one was even better than before. Thanks to all who put in alot of hard work to prepare for this event, Timeless Treasures or our nick name TT in the OC… was great, and Strictly Scrapbooking was tops with the setup and cute make and takes, even if we did arrive alittle late due to a traffic accident of the FWY, hey we didn’t even notice, just singing away …and of course the Best store SGT and the BOOO Crew…..just waiting for us to arrive for the Royal treatment.  I am thinking that we need to do it it just keeps getting better and better…I’m game , what’s next?

Coming Soon… The Creative Cafe, from Creative Imaginations

Creative Cafe

This new concept is more than crafting supplies, it’s a way to foster an inspired, creative community, you will be able to saddle up to an “art bar” stocked with candy store-like bins of coordinating items including bulk tags, buttons, felt, and chipboard, ribbon, rub-ons, stickers, papers, cards, chipboard, stamps and dies. And best of all, you can work on your projects right here, interacting with other creative-minded crafters, meeting up with friends and making new ones in the process.

Can you imagine a quick and easy way to pass the afternoon. Just stroll on in at “Happy Hour” and create a cool project. Plus get a chance to meet new friends and just relax. If you want to pass on the current project, you know another one will be on the way soon!

Coming in November

UPDATED  10/22    There is some buzz that the Creative Cafe will be possibly shipped out next week.

Plus here is a video!!!

This Thursday, October 11, I’ll be teaching my “Our Little Angel” class here at the store. I still have three spots left in the class–sign up before this little gem is gone forever! Though I have baby pictures in this book, it can be used for a teenager, rocker, biker, romantic interest (hubby or boyfriend), or whoever that “untamed heart” is in your life. We’ll be using loads of Swarovski crystals, acetate elements, paint, and die-cuts made using SGT’s EXCLUSIVE “Heart and Wings” Quickutz Die Set to make this book sing to your soul. Don’t miss out–this is the last class in my “Our Little…” class series until 2008! I hope to see you on Thursday!

P.S. If you can’t make it to any class at Scrappin’ Good Times because of a scheduling conflict, ask if there are kits available for the class. Most instructors offer kits and you can purchase them from the store before the class to ensure that one will be reserved for you. The kits are usually available the night of the class for pick up.

There are so many new products all throughout the store that it is hard to keep track of it all. Yesterday I was taking a little stroll around the store and tucked in the front corner were these super cute papers from Bo Bunny’s new “Vintage Carnival” line. I was struck with inspiration and took a couple of each sheet, not sure what I would create just yet, but sure that I wanted that paper! As I was walking to the back of the store I saw this awesome display of Foo-Fa-La “Bags O’ Buttons” by Autumn Leaves. One of the Bags O’ Buttons, the “Going Places” Collection, matched the Bo Bunny paper PERFECTLY! Lizette was working with the die-cutting machine and one of the new coaster dies we just got in. I borrowed the machine from her for a few minutes and cut a few pieces of chipboard into coasters, cut a couple pieces of cardstock to cover them, went home, and created this, in one evening:

These are only a few of the pages from the book. For complete photos please check out my gallery or come to the Class Kickoff (this Friday night, October 5th from 5-7pm) to get a closer look at this book–all the supplies you need to create it are right there in the store, from the ribbon, to the paper, to the Quickutz dies. The book is a store sample so please feel free to match the papers and ribbons and take photos.

So take a stroll through the store because you never know where inspiration will strike or where you’ll find that scrapbooking diamond in the rough!
