It really feels good to be back at almost full capacity these days : ) In the process of taking care of my mom–she had major surgery recently, I got sick with that darn cold bug going ’round! But being forced to stay in worked wonders on my scrapbooking area/office! I found more embellishments then I know what to do with. All I can say is buttons, buttons, and more buttons!!! Defitentely Spring Cleaning a couple of weeks early. So, now I’m on the organizational hunt. Hmmmm….Club Java Tuesday’s the store opens at 9am! Better make my wish list out now : )

Ok, I felt since Trish was away in Denver, that this is the perfect time to show you something.  Don’t tell Trish, but this beautiful composition book is the make n take that is included in the upcoming bus tour.  It was designed by Valeree and myself.  It would be such a handy journal for your scrapbooking pages.  Quick thoughts, titles of upcoming layouts or memories of a cute saying could be kept in this handy journal.  It features the Alyssa line from Bo Bunny Press and demos of great products.

Anyone who has participated in our past bus tours knows  how fun and exciting they are.  They always sell out and Scrappin’ Good Times knows how to show you a Scrappin’ Good  Great Time!  Our next trip is titled “Party Like a Rock Star” and it is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th.  The chartered bus (with a great driver) will take you to Scrapbook Garden in Huntington Beach,  Ever After in Vista, and then back to Scrappin’ Good Times.  The cost is $45 until March 18th and then the price increases to $50.   Sign up now and save the $5.   This includes a great lunch, discounts and make n takes at each of the stores and a goodie bag.  It  is like going on the bus tour for free since the goodie bag is valued at $45.  Don’t miss out on a fantastic day.  And remember when you sign up… don’t mention my name!!!

I just had to share the cute little partridge that I cut with my Pazzles.  Oh I so love that machine.  My Pazzles and my Silhouette make my life sooo much easier.  I made the partride in a couple of different pieces so I could make him colorful.  He is the same bird from the Free Bird line from My Minds Eye.  If you haven’t seen that paper then you had better get into the store quick.  It is going fast.

I’m a bit late posting this pic, but sharing it anyway. These are the items from a class I took at Prima hqtrs last month. Let me tell you folks, this class was a lightbulb moment for me! Our instructor was Liz Hicks who is a certified instructor for both Prima and Tattered Angels and she opened up a whole new world of wonderful techniques during this class. We used Glimmer Mists to color chipboard, flowers, and trim. What I especially liked was using the lighter shades of the Glimmer Mist – you can use them to vary your look from a subtle shimmer to a more intense burst of color.

Some tips for using Glimmer Mist:

  • Do not shake the bottles up and down – it clogs the spraying mechanism. Instead shake them from side to side only.
  • For best (even) results, try to spray lightly and from as reasonably far a distance as you can (too close and you’re more likely to have splatters)
  • Plan ahead for drying time for your pieces as they will be pretty wet when you’re done –or use a heat gun to help speed the drying
  • “Fabri-tac” adhesive can be used on items that aren’t dry yet

Now, I know Michelle ordered a whole bunch of Glimmer Mist for the store last month. But the stuff has been *flying* off the shelves. Last time I checked we were down to just a couple of bottles. But hang in there –I know we’ll be getting some more in soon!

sisters-2page-layoutNew this spring from Basic Grey is the Porcelain line.
I did a two-page layout of my daughters using
this paper and I just love it! This will be hitting the Scrappin’ Good Times shelf very soon so stop in and check it out and start planning your layout now!

The store received all the fixins’ from the new Penny Lane Collection from My Mind’s Eye! And boy is it cute! The collection has two sided papers, journalling squares, die-cuts, and clear scrap_therapy-003overlays. So manmy possiblilities with all of the choices to mix ‘n match. Plus the collection has alot of whimsy to it. The line has both masculine and feminine papers. Some of the paper groups remind me of Little House on the Prairie. Simple patterns, reminiscient of that time period.  I liked the My Friend group from the Free Bird Collection. I thought it would make a cute layout featuring my son with his Dad. A heritage type of a page. Happy Creating -Susan B.

I’ve often been asked when are we going to start having Friday night crops again…and they’re coming soon!  Watch for details in the next Scrappin’ Good Times newsletter.  Our 12-hour crops are great fun, but we know not everyone wants to commit that much of their weekend.  Cropping on Friday night is a great way to end your hectic week and start the weekend with some creative hours.

Happy scrappin’ – Barbara

Add some personalization to you cell phone or iPod. . .if you have a clear case that attaches over your phone or iPod use some rub ons,  apply the rub on to the inside of the cover this will show thru  but won’t rub off. . . you have now customized you phone. I saw this somewhere and thought I share it with you all. . .Doreen

Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez….Let the Good Times Roll!  Scrappin’ Good Times that is!! Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday, so don’t forget to come on in to the store for the latest and greatest! I know I can’t think of a better way to over-indulge. Seeing my scrapbooking bags bursting at the seams with new paper and supplies : ) Sure beats seeing it go to my thighs!!!

Now that Valentine’s Day is over, if you have any heart shaped chocolate boxes leftover…..before just throwing them away, think SCRAPBOOK!  Cover the box with your scrapbook paper, trace the heart shape onto some cardstock for using as pages on the inside, and presto, change-o, you have a cute little mini scrapbook inside a heart shaped box!  I have seen this idea before, and it is a good use of your empty chocolate boxes.  Happy Scrapbooking!
