If you are a constant shopper of scrapping supplies, you will know that every so often you will come across a product that amazes you and you will ask yourself “What will they think of next?” The clear ribbon is one such product! Scrappin’ Good Times currently carries three different clear ribbons: Arrows, Stars, Flowers and another one in browns. These are great additions to any layout. Clear, so they can be placed across photographs, patterned paper, placed diagonally and so much more. I just love this ribbon! Plus it is fun to play with too! – Susan B.

Making Memories Valentine PaperValentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays to scrapbook. Having two children who still make and send Valentine’s to their friends, it is always fun to help them and snap some cute pics of their finished works of art! It makes for a cute layout also. So much love and hearts and cupids and flying arrows… I found some great paper this year to enhance a vintage Valentine layout from Making Memories. There are two different die-cut 12 x 12 sheets to choose from and a plaid, red with pin dot flowers, red with Valentine sayings typed in courier style font, and so many embellishments to choose from. So why is this funny? Funny Valentine. Because I bought several sheets and went back a couple days later to pick up some more, and funny… it seems to be sold out! I am sure it will be reordered since it sold so quickly! But, this line is definitely my pick for this year’s Valentine paper! -SusanB.

So yesterday when I got home from work, I was working on a love themed project for the store. I needed a cute picture of me and my husband. I went searching through all of my 2007 photos and came up with squat. No problem. Thanks to digital cameras, I will just set up the tripod, set the timer on the camera, plop us on the couch, tell him to smile like he loves me and snap away. Just to be sure I came out with something usable, I checked myself in the mirror first. Not bad considering I had been at work all day and came home to get the little one dinner and all and it was 9:00PM. We took 5 pictures during a commercial break and off I went to upload them to the computer and then to Costco for printing. What the heck?!! Is that what I really look like? That is certainly not what the mirror reflected back at me. I didn’t see tired droopy eyes, or flat hair, or anything of the sort that these pictures were showing me. GRRRR!  So hence the title of this post.

Moral of my little blurb here …. hand your camera off to people and tell them to take pictures of YOU and your loved one(s). Don’t worry about being a bother to them. Don’t fear your camera is too complex for the common man to work. Don’t be shy. Don’t worry about seeming like a narcicist. After all the hard work you go through to scrapbook, you should be in at least some of the pictures. Don’t you think?

And heck no I am not posting those pictures on this blog! You’ll just have to come into the store and find my project which will have at least one of the horrible pictures on it.

Oh my gosh have they been working overtime. I’m talking about Quickutz!! Holy cow they have the cutiest new Valentines 4×4 and 2×2’s. Here is the link if you haven’t seen them yet. They are to die for. Perfect for either a layout of you and your special someone, or a little project for just some of your friends. They add the perfect touch to anything.

Talk about working over time after they released the Valentines Dies in the begining of January, about 2 weeks later they released these super cute every day dies, from cherries, a rainbow, tags, a butterfly, four leaf clover and mushrooms. They also released a new Cookie Cutter alphabet set named Diesel. They originally had that alphabet set in a 2×2 when quickutz first came out, but now it is a Cookie Cutter with super cute upper and lower case block letters. If you don’t believe me go check out this link and see what they came up with this time. I don’t know what they are gonna come up with next.

I was just in the store today, and I have to agree with P.J the new Basic grey Two Scoops, is just too cute. I love it, all the paper is great and the colors work so well together it can be definitely be used for a cute valentines day layout or even for a spring colored mini book or layout. There are even some matching acrylic stamps.. I had to buy myself a set of course!! Come in and check it out, I don’t think it will last on the shelves too long.

          Two Scoops!

I was in the store today and I was pleased to see on the shelves the new Basic Grey line called Two Two Scoops! Two Scoops!Scoops. It’s so pretty that I bought it all. As I had laid out all of my papers out on the table, it caught the attention of some of the other girls at Two Scoops! Two Scoops! Two Scoops! Two Scoops! Two Scoops!work too. I think my favorite paper is the one with the cupids all over it. Perfect for Valentine’s. The sherbert like colors of this collection are also perfect for Easter. Come by the store and check it out.

Anyone who knows me, knows I am VERY resistant to change…which includes doing new things , new ways!!! Just like the blogging idea- resistant- BUT here goes! I have my favorite scrappin’ tools that I always reach for because they’re comfortable. I see new products, they look interesting- I buy them, but they often sit until I get REALLY motivated to try them.

fiskstpress.jpgWell, I have a new favorite tool. I’ve seen it in our store for months- had it in my scraproom for months but finally decided to try it and I love it. It’s that plastic grid by Fiskar’s- the one with the little yellow sponge feet in the corners. I have LOTS of clear plastic stamps but even though they’re clear, I often don’t get them stamped EXACTLY where I want them. They’re just a tad off centered or crooked… so, I don’t use them very often.

I had A LOT of stamping to do in preparation for a class and decided to try my Fiskar’s Stamp Press. OMG! I could manipulate the stamp right up to that very last fraction of a second before it hit the paper. No wasted efforts (or paper). If you happen to be taking the Travel class with Barb and I, you’ll have a chance to try it. If not, and you’re in the store, just ask one of us how it works… I just know you’ll love it! Sometimes change can be fun…(and this blogging idea isn’t so bad afterall).
