Val has been cutting all kinds of new die cuts to co-ordinate with our papers. They are going fast but I’m giving you the inside scoop that we have a great selection right now!!! These embellishments make it soooo simple to add that last touch of detail to make that perfect page. Even though I have the tools, I’m one of her best customers!

I was wandering around the store the other day and ran across this really cute card. I don’t know how long it’s been in the store or who designed it (tho I have my suspicions), but it is so adorable that I just had to snap a pic of it and share it here. Too cute!
There are so many samples around the shelves and on the walls in the store – I love when I find one I hadn’t seen before. It’s like finding a little surprise waiting there just for me!
And, btw, while I’m thinking of it you are always welcome to take photos of samples in the store for inspiration (except for class samples). So next time you come for a visit, bring your camera and get snapping.

Hi everyone – What a great day for some scrappin’. With the hot summer days turn on the AC a nice ice cold Coca Cola and Mossie is ready to get down to some croppin’. Maybe you need some inspiration or is there a technique you would like to try on a new layout, or a product you would like to use but not sure how. Well I am happy to announce in the fall we are going to start having Demo Days at SGT’s.
If there is a technique or a product you would like featured please let us know.
Happy Scrappin

Well birds and birdhouses seem to be the “IT” thing right now. If you are looking for that type of paper then Lillian by Crate is right up that alley. The beautiful pastel colors remind me of both spring and summer.

There are also some adorable glitter die cuts to match the paper.

And Val and I even cut a few die cuts out on the Silhouette with some matching cardstock. This is a great way to use die cuts on your page when you don’t have an electronic die cutting machine.

Hurry down because it is disappearing quickly!!

Yesterday, Ryan and I went to go watch My Sister’s Keeper, which is a movie based on the book by Jodi Picult about a girl who has leukemia and her family. The youngest child, Anna, was genetically engineered to be a perfect donor match for the child with leukemia, Kate. After donating lympocytes and granulocytes and bone marrow and whatever else, Kate needs a kidney. This is when Anna files a lawsuit against her parents for medical emancipation and says that she doesn’t want to donate her kidney to Kate (which is basically a life or death situation for Kate). It is definitely a chick flick that will bring tears to your eyes, at least for me, because for some reason I have a really hard time keeping my eyes dry when watching/hearing someone else crying. Anyway, I read the book a couple weeks ago, and even just reading the story brought tears to my eyes. I have to say though, if you plan on seeing this movie, you might want to see the movie first, and THEN read the book. There’s always differences when a book goes to screen and more often than not, the book is TEN times better than the movie. I have to say, this is no execption. This story brings up a lot of ethical and moral dilemmas to which there doesn’t really seem to be any one “right” answer. If you are interested at all in this book/movie, check out: My Sister’s Keeper, the Movie website and My Sister’s Keeper, the Book website . The ending of the movie was drastically changed from the ending in the novel, which was a huge disappointment/surprise to me, but at the same time, it had some really great parts to it too. =)
In other news, I’m trying to motivate myself to attempt to join the professional workforce (I need an income to fund my scrapbooking/crafts/amigurumi habits, I haven’t been able to do ANYTHING cuz I can’t afford to, which is depressing). Let me tell yah, it’s hard. I graduated in 2007 with a BS degree, but haven’t seen anything scientific since then. Everyone says, it’ll come back to you, it’s just stored in the back of your mind, but I don’t really think it’ll happen that way. I know that’s a negative attitude to have (although, more realistic, in my mind). With that being said, wish me luck! Any pointers/suggestions/comments about resume’s, interviews, jobs in general…. lemme know! =)
Oh, this past Wednesday, I babysat for 5 hours. I babysat for my Aunt and Uncle who have three little boys, ages 5, 4, and 2. I have to say, keeping them entertained and happy was not the easiest. I give props to those mommies and daddies out there, children are not easy, not that I ever thought they would be, but imagining being with and taking care of the kids 24/7/365 is beyond my realm of imagination. I have to admit though, they are superly uber cute and not the terrors that some parents have to deal with. =)
Alrite, that’s all for now. Catchyah all on the flipside. LOL.

ATTENTION-ATTENTION!!! JUNE BUG AND LEMONADE HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED!!!
Lemonade has this summery floral feel… and check out the coordinating chipboard… I think it is just soooo cute!!!

Oh and June Bug!!! If you have a dog, you have to check out some of this paper!!! There is a cute design with dogs on it and the embellishments to coordinate are to die for!!! I have to admit, I saw Basic Grey’s latest paper lines in Pasadena at CKC and I initially was not impressed. Maybe I was overwhelmed with so many other things going on and I never really looked at the theme of these two lines. Yesterday I stopped by the store to pick up a cute little card from Scrap Therapy and ended up picking up both lines of paper!
The funny thing is, I never realized how this paper could be used for dogs because some designers on the Basic Grey site have used it for so many other things. This is something I love about Basic Grey paper. You have so many designs to choose from in a line that it can be used for basically anything.
Check out these Woolies, Pops and Bling It!

Well happy shopping and Happy Friday
Hope you all have a fun and cool weekend…I’m off to Raging Waters

Those of you that receive our newsletter saw the call for LA County Fair entries. Did you know that there is a section at the fair that showcases scrapbooking projects? Did you know you can enter your work? I have done it for the past 3 years and it’s been great to see the display area for scrapbooking get larger and larger. Let’s all see if we can’t get it to be even bigger this year.
Here’s the deal … you don’t have much time left to get your entry form sent off with your entry fee. It must be postmarked by July 9, 2009. Yes, that’s technically TODAY. Here’s where you can find the form. Edited: I guess my link doesn’t let you print out the form, so go here and then click on “Tapestry Entry Form” link. From there you can print it out and then fill it out and mail it off TODAY.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING OUT FORM:
For Division #, enter 2418 (that’s Scrapbooking)
For Class #, enter 1 (Themed Page – a layout), 2 (Invitation or Announcement), 3 (Keepsake, Altered Book – a mini album), 4 (Greeting Card) or 5 (Other, specify)
For Description, descibe your project. Give as much detail in the space provided as you can, so you can get your project back after the fair is over.
Entry fee is $2 per project. BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR CHECK WITH YOUR ENTRY APPLICATION.
Your projects have to be at the fair by July 14th. That’s next Monday.
I am entering 4 projects. Projects that are already completed. I am not making new ones. I know you have plenty in your stash that you can part with for a couple of months. Let’s show the world (or LA County) that we scrapbookers are awesome! Please don’t think that your work is not worthy of being displayed! It is! It was made with love, passion, and creativity. Why shouldn’t that be showcased? And who knows? You might even get a ribbon.
I hope to see your work at the fair.
~ Krista
PS – Please submit original work and not projects you made in a class. We want to see YOUR designs.

Hi everyone! Well this year is going by so fast. And next thing you know the holidays are upon us. You know how at SGT’s we have card and layout kits of the month and scrap therapy. Also we have all sorts of classes. These would make lovely gifts for those special people on your gift list. A set of cards, or frame a layout for giving. I am starting on some of my ideas for giving and thought these would make really special gifts. And you know SGT’s has all your supplies if you come up with your own ideas to make cards and layouts.
Happy Scrappin

Hey all! This week’s scraptherapy was designed by yours truly. Most of you already know how incredibly girly I am, so you won’t be surprised that my project is a girly girl good friends card. If you would like to bring your own supplies you will need pastel pink chalk ink, adhesive and a pop dot.
Hope to see you all Thursday!! Dr. Heidi Ho
