…i think…since i am in a wee bit o’ denial about the whole thing! just like so many others this year, we are doing sweet and simple homemade gifts…last night i was looking around the store at the wonderful kits that the good time girls have put together…they are super cute, super easy, and i would LOVE to receive any of them…hint hint…pop in and see what ktis are left from the count down to Christmas classes, scrap therapy, and all the other great kits that everyone has been hard at work creating!!!

my Christmas Wishes Card Class last night was so fun, i just get so filled up with joy when i get to spend time with our AMAZING students!!!

enjoy our finally fallish weather!!!

just popping in to say Happy Halloween!!! i hope you and your princess’, nijas, ghosts, witches, and goblins are having a wonderful and safe night!

i can’t wait to scrap the pictures i took of nic dressed up as Kat von D

don’t forget to turn your clocks back tonight!!!

have you been enjoying the weekly ‘count down to Christmas’ projects? the goal was to create adorable yet simple projects that you can do inexpensively and easily for anyone on your Christmas list…and this year, more than ever, we could all use that!

tonight’s is a cute little gift card holder that i designed, it uses the acrylic card box that we sell at the store…

a few years ago i  made one of these for my daughter for valentine’s day and made a mini album that slips inside…

wouldn’t that make an adorable gift for someone special this Christmas? you can make this project using up some of those scraps and left over letters and numbers…

hope to see you tonight!

i just finished packing up everything for my ‘harvest thyme’ card class tonight…and something struck me…excitement!

i realized how happy it makes me to see those faces around the table, creating something that i designed…cards that i put a little piece of me into…

so, i am grateful…for SGT being a second home, with family that welcomes me with hugs and smiles…for my students that fill me up with joy and add laughter to my day…for my fellow designers that inspire and support me…

if you haven’t take a class at SGT or haven’t made it to a class in a while, maybe it’s time to get in there…laugh, create, play, and share…we’re waiting for you!

the other day, whilst selling at the garage sale, i spotted the new basic grey halloween line ‘erie’…i loved it! there wasn’t much left, so i grabbed just one sheet of my four favorites…i can’t wait to make up some spooky halloween cards!

i have been wanting to make a boo banner since last year, and this paper seemed perfect for it…

i used the paper to cover the fronts of the wood plaques, inked them all up with walnut ink, added crepe paper rosettes that i glittered…a bazzill scallop circle, and a circle of script halloween paper from last year…the letters were cut with my silhouette…then attached the plaques onto tulle, tying more tulle and ribbon between and at the ends…a button with a rhinestone brad (which i ‘antiqued’ with a copic marker) was the perfect touch to add to the bows…then a few scattered bats…simple and easy!

i have been reorganizing and cleaning out my scrap room in preparation for the garage sale on Sept 12th…have you been to one of the sales? they are fabulous! all that fun stuff and so stinkin’ cheap!!!  i came across this stamp set and wasn’t sure if i could part with it…in the end, it went in to the garage sale pile…after i made a few final cards with it!!

brewitchthe paper is last year’s my mind’s eye halloween paper (LOVE this years!!!), the dies are spellbinders, all was inked up with dusty concord distress ink…and, of course, the coloring is with copic markers!

i have it on good authority that there are a few spots open to sell at the garage sale…hurry! this is a perfect opportunity to rack up some store credit before the holidays!!

yay!!! my favoritest!!! class kick off!! (and super excited for the safari happenings…so cal shop hop!!!)

holidaythymesneekcome see what the amazing SGT instructors have been up to…i can’t wait!!! see you there!!!

have you ever noticed those little brown paper bags that we give ya when you buy something little? have you just tossed it aside as trash? or held on to it with the intentions of using it for something? well, leave it to me…here are two uses for those bags…

the first, a layout i did a while back you may have seen…

nictrucksee it there with a tag tucked into it? it doesn’t matter if it gets wrinkled…actually, i prefer case you didn’t notice, i like distressing!

the second, i used as an envelope for a card…

vintagefaithenvie i folded up the bottom of the bag and glued my cotton lace over the end…you just have to be careful with the size of what you are slipping inside…especially if you are like me and add lots of fun vintage finds onto your card…i added a piece of patterned paper to the back of the bingo card on which i will write my sentiments…this is a card for a dear friend going through a rough time…so i will write her an inspirational note on the back…she can hang the card or display it on a shelf…and hopefully be reminded to keep the faith and believe that better days are on their way…

it is purely coincidental that both of these projects used jenni bowlin! the paper bag idea works with so many different papers…school paper would be perfect as would the new dream street cooking line!

val mentioned the pup’s play date…here are some pictures…they were too cute playing! i still have to scrap the pics, so i will share those when i get ’em done!  there are so many cute doggie lines to choose from at the store…i think i know just the one i will grab tonight to use!

sydnmadthey shared water, toys, and ears…

sydnmad2that’s sydney’s favorite…to chew maddie’s ears!

sydnmad3and…of course, maddie was happy to help hold the puppy up when she was too tired to stand on her own…

can’t wait to do a layout! and, to get the ‘kids’ together again!

if you were lucky enough to grab some fo the jenni bowlin birthday bingo cards (they flew out the door!!!), here is an idea for them…they are so stinkin’ cute!

linds09a quick card for a friends birthday that i threw together…i used a few other jenni bowlin products on the card (crepe paper, sticker label, mini label papers, and a pearl flower) along with a button with red embroidery floss, polka dot ribbon , a hint of chalk inks…a wee bit of doodling (julie inspired!)…and, i used my scor-pal to do those two embossed lines…they add a neat little touch to card bases…
