Well I have painting my bedroom, vaulted ceilings and all for the last 2 weeks.  It was one of my goals before my kids start school…well they start tomorrow and I am finishing up the trim today and moving the furniture back today.  Looks great but WOW, a lot of work.  Next is the hall and the the downstairs living room, again with vaulted ceiling.  My kids can’t wait for school tomorrow.  I’m a little apprehensive because it require a lot more structure and dicipline from me.  Since I’ve been painting, my kids have enjoyed their relaxing days in PJ’s and watching TV.  Guess that ends today and tomorrow it’s back to our routine.  Yeah for the lazy days of summer.

This past weekend we spent four fabulous days at Lake Mead, our favorite summer destination.  We spend the entire day, sun up to sun down on the lake.  It is just so beautiful.  Here’s a few pictures of my crazy husband jumping off the rocks (I guess we are all crazy because we all four did it numerous times – it’s genetic – poor kids), me and Savannah surfing, and I taught Austin how to back dive this weekend.  It was a great family time.  Watch out fellow boaters – Savannah thinks she’s a pro at driving the boat.

Here’s Austin and his friends tubing – the faster and crazier the better the ride

One of our favorite things to do is rock jumping

For all of you who came to our Anniversary Sale, you know how much I love ribbon and organizing.  I have two boxes full, neatly wrapped on chipboard and organized by color.  This is what it looked like before:

(You know this is the perfect project to get done while I spend quality time watching TV with my hubby.) And my finished project looks like this:

I LOVE IT and you will too.  Everytime I need ribbon to finish off a page or project, it’s all there so beautifully displayed.   For those of you who would like to get started, SGT sells the clear plastic boxes and also the chipboard cards.  The only thing else you will need is a lot of straight pins.  And for those of you I met at the sale and you purchased your supplies, I am anxious to see your finished product.  Pamela

OK, I was just going to run into the store for a minute to drop off my projects I entered in the LA Fair…(by the way everyone must go see all the SGT employee/designer’s layouts and altered books we entered.  Can’t wait to see who wins ribbons.) so Trish could deliver them today.  Lo and behold, what was spread across the table…New PRIMA BLING…packages upon packages.  I tried to decided but couldn’t so I walked out with one of each.  I’m telling you this because if you don’t RUN…not walk…to the store they will be gone again.  We all love them so much and they make our pages absolutely stunning.  They are a MUST HAVE item for any level of scrapbooker.  Hurry in….Pamela

So today was the first leg of our vacation – Rock Climbing in Big Bear.  This was the first time we have taken our kids and wow, were we impressed and proud parents.  Austin scaled the rock like nothing – he is a natural.  Savannah was at a disadvantage because her broken arm limits her.  But she was all there too, climbing.  I know, I know, some of you think I am CRAZY…but when my kids accomplish something like climbing a cliff, I get tears in my ear from the joy.  Plus they really love it and being outdoors.  The only draw back to rock climbing is that we have to 4wd in and out…very, very bumpy to say the least.  Now off to the Cambria for some real R and R.  I’m talking Pedi’s, Mani’s and the spa treatment.  I seriously need a massage after 4 wheel driving today.

He\'s a naturalSavannah Climbing too

Well, I am supposedly leaving tomorrow morning on Vacation…but the question is…who’s vacation?  As I sit to blog (really procrastinating) I wonder how long it will take me to do 5 loads of laundry, pack food for a week, clothes for 2 kids, hubby, and me, pack dogs (yes, they need their stuff too on vacation…toys, chew bones, hiking water dish, coats for the cold), hiking gear (tell you more later), beach chairs, easyup, towels, bikes, cooler, July 4th decorations, well you get the picture…NO VACATION FOR ME.   I think the perfect vacation for me would involve NO PACKING.  We rent a house and spend a week in Cayucos/Cambria area with my family but this year we threw in a quick hiking trip to Big Bear for the day.  Yeah it was my crazy idea to go but at the time, it sounded good…now…not so much.  The kids will love repelling down cliffs, riding through the trails in a Ranger and hopefully I too will relax and enjoy the mountains…then off to the beach.  So I guess I will stop complaining about all the stuff that needs to get done and consider the fact that I can spend one day in the mountains and the next at the beach.  Life is good in Southern California.

Usually on Tuesday’s during the free crop, I’ll spend my morning putting out new papers.  Well today, Arturo had not yet finished entering all the yummy papers from Reminisce.  There were SO many cute lines that it was unbelievable.  There was RX, Farm, Amusement Park, Animal, Railroad, Travel, and so many more.  Trish promises to have it out in time for the weekend garage sale.
