have you ever noticed those little brown paper bags that we give ya when you buy something little? have you just tossed it aside as trash? or held on to it with the intentions of using it for something? well, leave it to me…here are two uses for those bags…

the first, a layout i did a while back you may have seen…

nictrucksee it there with a tag tucked into it? it doesn’t matter if it gets wrinkled…actually, i prefer case you didn’t notice, i like distressing!

the second, i used as an envelope for a card…

vintagefaithenvie i folded up the bottom of the bag and glued my cotton lace over the end…you just have to be careful with the size of what you are slipping inside…especially if you are like me and add lots of fun vintage finds onto your card…i added a piece of patterned paper to the back of the bingo card on which i will write my sentiments…this is a card for a dear friend going through a rough time…so i will write her an inspirational note on the back…she can hang the card or display it on a shelf…and hopefully be reminded to keep the faith and believe that better days are on their way…

it is purely coincidental that both of these projects used jenni bowlin! the paper bag idea works with so many different papers…school paper would be perfect as would the new dream street cooking line!

Your baaack!!! I love the way you used the bag for an envelope. Definitely something I will try. I’m just kicking myself for not holding on to them. I do use the little clear plastic button and embellishment bags to hold my pre-cut shapes from my silouette. Whatever color I am cutting I just either cut extra of the same or something else in that color. It saves me from ending up with as many scrap pieces that don’t feed into the silouette as well. I put them in the clear plastic and file away for later use.
