Continuing a Family Tradition

My Family

My Family

It has been close to 15 years now that my family has been gathering together for our annual picnic. It started out as a baseball game and grew from there. This year we added my nephews’ 1st birthday to the fun and festivities. Another first, we also hired a caterer and event photographer. Since my nephew holds the “youngest” spot in our huge family, I thought I would start documenting our family tree with a new picnic tradition…..a professional photographer!! And normally the guys man the grills ALL day long. So, they got a well deserved break this year!! The kids really enjoyed swimming; riding bikes, the playground, a birthday piñata, and the days BIG hit, face painting!! Even the adults stood in line right along with the kiddies to get painted up. The most memorable moment of the day for me was trying to round up everyone for the group picture. I had to literally push and pull people to get them over to the photo area. They didn’t want to relinquish their conversations, food or drinks. In the end I was able to pull it off. Now everyone has a part of our family history to cherish for years to come. And of course you KNOW I can hardly wait to scrap these pages!!
