Well I’m off again to visit Jamie in Colorado. Jamie has her first ice skating competition for the University. I thought I would never see her skate again. She has been off the ice for three years with multiple injuries and a knee surgery last year. The Doctors all said that she would probably never be able to return to the ice due to permanent damage to her knee and ankle. I think she lived at physical therapy. The skating team was one of the reasons she wanted to attend Colorado. Knowing at the time that she couldn’t do any jumps she wanted to join their synchronized skating team, although her heart has always been in singles skating. She has always been a jumper. So, after three years Jamie started to skate at the end of summer just before leaving for college. She wasn’t on the ice a few weeks before she started begging me to let her jump. She just couldn’t stand it. What could I say?? I knew how heartbreaking it was for her not to be able to skate. Well, everything came back as if she never left the ice. Within one week she had all her doubles and now she is back to practicing her triples. I now always say be careful what you wish for because when Jamie quit I was ready to be done with the skating life. Three hours a day on the ice gets very tiring after a while and the drama among the Moms…yuck! But to see my daughters broken heart for all these years has made me see how important skating has been to her. I would give anything to see her skate again…and now I get to!! It just goes to show you that no matter what, never give up!
My real reason for writing this blog was to share with all of you a cute little day planner I made for Jamie. She just became a sorority girl and life is just sooooo busy with social activities she asked me to make her a weekly planner with her sorority colors. This is what I came up with. Julie
Julie, your day planner is adorable. (as always) Jamie, is so lucky to have such a creative Mom. Given those sorority colors, I would of thought it would of been tough to come up with something that cute. Once again, you picked papers, I would of overlooked and it looks great. Her sorority sisters are going to be sooo jealous. I wouldn’t be surprised if you get many orders. Rosi
That book is SUPER CUTE! Yeah I agree, all her Theta sisters will want one too….heck I want one : ))
